The Scottish Boiler Scrappage Scheme which will help up to 5,000 households in Scotland replace their “G-rated” boilers closed after only two days of the scheme opening! For further details see the Energy Savings Trust:

Solar panels can either heat water (thermal) or generate electricity (PV). BeGreen have produced a document showing current grants and feed in tariffs (to be introduced April 2010) make the installation of PV’s a more attractive proposition. Payback times are down to less than 10 years!
