Transport
Sustaining Dunbar wants to make it easier to walk and cycle around Dunbar and to improve the local bus and train services. In addition to the environmental imperatives, we all benefit directly from a more sociable and pleasant community, freed from the nuisance and danger of busy roads.

The Transport Group currently has 23 local members who are kept up-to-date through emails and monthly meetings. The meetings are usually held on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 8pm. Please come along and let us know how you think we will be getting around Dunbar in 15 years time. To join the mailing list or to find out more, please contact Morag Haddow at transport@sustainingdunbar.org.uk
Connecting Dunbar
Recently we applied for funding from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund which has allowed us to employ 3 part-time members of staff on our Connecting Dunbar project. Over the next few months, they will be out and about in the community, asking for local people’s ideas for making it easier to get about on foot or by bike, train or bus. By March 2011, they will have produced a comprehensive map of walking and cycling routes in the area and collected bus and train information into one, easily accessible place.
